Working with a Student Inclusion Consultant

Working with a Student Inclusion Consultant

51 staff are encouraged to work with our SICs to reflect on the inclusivity of practice within their faculty or service. Academic and professional services staff members of all grades  who feel they would benefit from objective student input are welcome to engage with the scheme.

Previous examples of staff-student partnerships have included SICs reviewing:

  • teaching materials within a module to ensure accessibility
  • impact of University policy on a specific student group
  • marketing materials to ensure diverse approaches to recruitment

Staff members who have taken part in the scheme have positive feedback about their experience:

"I spoke to four of the consultants and each of them was brilliant. I can only say how fantastic it was to speak to them. Engaging with the students that your work will impact can only ever broaden your understanding of the topic and produce better work”

“The information and improvements that were suggested were valuable and have already made a difference to other students being able to access the services that are on offer within the university”

Applications are welcome from 51 staff members who would like to work with our tam of SICs.
