I got to travel to lots of different places, my placement at House of Quirky was in Sydney and at Karl Lagerfeld I was based in Amsterdam. Starting at two different companies allowed me to meet lots of new people and get professional contacts for when I graduate. Moving away and starting at these new places by myself really helped to grow my confidence.
I have much more industry knowledge on the way fashion works in a big company and the production of it. There are also many different roles available and my placement has helped me decide which department I would like to work in meaning I can tailor my CV specifically for the job I want to get when I graduate.
I have now developed my skills on programmes such as Photoshop and Illustrator which will be a big help for my final year as I can put these to use in the creation of my final project. When I finished both placements the companies said that I would be welcomed back if they had any positions available which helps put me ahead of other applicants due to the fact that the staff know me and have already worked with me.
