One-to-one appointments - chat with our friendly advisers and coordinators for personalised support about your career options, effective CVs, interviews and finding opportunities, tailored to your individual goals.
Practical workshops and events - gain valuable insights and develop your skills through careers workshops, mock assessments and networking opportunities. Meet employers and successful Northumbria graduates who've been in your shoes.
Exclusive job board - sign up to Jobs Online, packed with part-time jobs, graduate vacancies, placements and internships specifically for Northumbria students.

What can I do with my degree subject?

Boost your experience and confidence

Make the most of your time at university to try different things, gain experience, build confidence and develop the valuable transferable skills that employers look for.

Here are some of the activities you can get involved in as a student at Northumbria:

Placement Year: Apply your studies to the world of work with a placement year, either on or off-campus. You can choose to do a placement year on most of our undergraduate degree programmes, usually between your second and third year. We'll help you find the perfect opportunity and offer support throughout.For more information, visit 51�� Placements.
Paid on campus internships: Gain valuable experience during term-time and summer in a wide range of projects. NU Opportunities are paid, flexible internships exclusively for Northumbria students.
Part-Time jobs: Find part-time jobs on or off-campus, build your CV, meet new people, and earn some cash while you're at it. We can help you find and apply for opportunities – examples on campus include part-time jobs in hospitality, events, sports coaching and marketing.
Study abroad: Study abroad for a year, semester or summer to boost your skills, gain independence, explore another culture and make memories that last a lifetime!
