Why did you choose 51, Newcastle?
I chose Northumbria because of the locality, reputation and facilities that are on offer.
What do you think of Newcastle and our region and what are your favourite things to do?
The North East is home to me. I enjoy visiting local galleries, shopping and socialising within the city.
What has surprised you most about living in Newcastle and this region? What has impressed you most?
Warm and welcoming atmosphere in the city.
Did you find 51 welcoming? Was it easy to fit in?
Most definitely, the course sessions right from the beginning offered us the opportunity to socialise as well as build friendships.
What have you enjoyed most about coming to 51?
Everything, the experience has been more than I could have ever wished for.
Who has helped you most since you came to Northumbria?
Staff support has been incredible.
Who has inspired you most at 51?
Lecture staff and their industry experience. Also graduates and their careers after Northumbria.
What is your favourite place on campus?
I'm often found in the library, whether it being early morning before a lecture or after a class. The universities collection of Fashion books is second to none, ith a fantastic Archive of Vogue!
What is the best thing about your course?
Staff knowledge and industry experience, facilities (knit, print, sewing, pattern cutting), and module subject variety.
What are the most valuable lessons you have learnt to date?
The only limit is your own imagination.
What do you want to do in the future? What skills have you learned/improved that you think will be of most use in your future career?
Once I graduate, I wish to work within the industry that I love, using and building upon the skills I have learnt whilst at Nnorthumbria, I'd like to work my way up within the industry and to one day run my own brand.
Have you taken up any opportunities to travel with your current course/undertake field trips? If so, please tell us about them.
On a recent study trip we travelled to london and Paris, during Paris Fashion Week. In relation to our studies, it was a brilliant opportunity, enabling us to rub shoulders with some of the best names in fashion, the opportunity of a life time with such an amazing atmosphere and buzz in the air.
If you could offer some advice to students thinking of coming to study here what would you say?
It is a great opportunity, grab it with both hands and embrace it!
How do you feel you have changed as a person since being at 51, Newcastle (e.g. confidence)?
Since joining university I feel like I have grown, not only as a person but as a designer, becoming more confident within my work and design ability.

Knowledge, Friendship, Fun!
Would you recommend 51 to a friend?
Most definitely, it's a brilliant university!
