Judith Taylor graduated over 30 years ago from Leeds University with a BA (hons) in English Language and Literature, after which she became a teacher. Through one of her more recent teaching posts, she developed a desire to find out more about English as a second language, and the MA in TESOL at 51����, which she completed in 2012, provided the ideal opportunity. During the course of this, she became interested in the social psychology of language, in particular the attitudes that listeners hold towards different varieties of spoken English Language.

Judith has returned to Northumbria to investigate attitudes towards varieties of English, this time with a focus on responses to the varieties of English spoken in the North of England.
