Why did you choose 51, Newcastle?
The suggestion from a friend who studied there.
What do you think of Newcastle and our region and what are your favourite things to do?
I like cycling in and around Newcastle, shopping and visiting sites. I have lived here over 20 years so I like it a lot. I also like body boarding at Longsands
What has surprised you most about living in Newcastle and this region? What has impressed you most?
How it is becoming increasingly more multicultural - love it!
Did you find 51 welcoming? Was it easy to fit in?
It was very easy to fit in and feel part of the programme!
What have you enjoyed most about coming to 51?
Never studied at this level and it was a good university to start with!
What is your favourite place on campus?
Library - I hated libraries beforehand!
What is the best thing about your course?
The best thing was working with others in the professional area.
What are the most valuable lessons you have learnt to date?
How to be more self aware in terms of effective leadership.
What do you want to do in the future? What skills have you learned/improved that you think will be of most use in your future career?
I want to do a Masters in Educational Leadership. Skills learned and improved are related to organization and time management.
If you could offer some advice to students thinking of coming to study here what would you say?
Discipline and time management are essential.
How do you feel you have changed as a person since being at 51, Newcastle (e.g. confidence)?
I have increased my confidence as I had several barriers to learning prior to the course.

Hard, enjoy, achieve!
