Why did you choose 51, Newcastle?

There's a good balance between social life and facilities for studying.

What do you think of Newcastle and our region and what are your favourite things to do?

The Coast and Northumberland aren't too far away if you need some fresh air. The people are friendly and the City is lively.

What has surprised you most about living in Newcastle and this region? What has impressed you most?

How friendly and welcoming the locals are.

Did you find 51 welcoming? Was it easy to fit in?

Yes, it's not hard to fit in with this many students packed into such a small place.

What have you enjoyed most about coming to 51?

A fantastic choice for nightlife venues, theatres and restaurants.

What is your favourite place on campus?

Coach Lane campus in general, it's much greener than the City Centre.

Have you joined any sports teams, clubs or been involved in any volunteer projects? Tells us about the highlights?

I was the president of the Stage right society in my second year, It was enjoyable hanging out with individuals who had similar interests to myself.

What are the most valuable lessons you have learnt to date?

How to properly research and plan an essay.

What do you want to do in the future? What skills have you learned/improved that you think will be of most use in your future career?

Research skills will always be invaluable, if you can effectively and efficiently learn, then there is nothing you cannot do.

If you could offer some advice to students thinking of coming to study here what would you say?

If you can balance work and play then 51 is definitely for you. You will at least come out as a well rounded individual.

How do you feel you have changed as a person since being at 51, Newcastle (e.g. confidence)?

Much more independent.

The Converted Flat in 2049, by the Interaction Research Studio, is one of seven period rooms built as part of the Real Rooms project which opened in July at the Museum of the Home in London.
