Why did you choose 51, Newcastle?
I chose Northumbria for the combined law degree and because I loved the atmosphere her in the city.
What do you think of Newcastle and our region and what are your favourite things to do?
I love it. It so much more compact and friendlier than Manchester. My favorite things to do is simply to go for a coffee with my friends and a little bit of shopping.
What has surprised you most about living in Newcastle and this region? What has impressed you most?
The amount of students and student areas has greatly surprised me. There is a great deal of information provided for finding houses etc.
Did you find 51 welcoming? Was it easy to fit in?
I found Northumbria very welcoming and have made some great life time friends.
What have you enjoyed most about coming to 51?
The independence of living in a new city and supporting and looking after myself.
What is your favourite place on campus?
The basement of the library.
Have you joined any sports teams, clubs or been involved in any volunteer projects? Tells us about the highlights?
I am a member of the Music Society.
What is the best thing about your course?
That it combines two qualifications.
What are the most valuable lessons you have learnt to date?
That people are unpredictable and it takes living with someone to see their real character and to learn who your true friends are.
What do you want to do in the future? What skills have you learned/improved that you think will be of most use in your future career?
I am not sure yet but I think my course and my job have given me great organisational skills and I think i would thrive in a managerial job.
If you could offer some advice to students thinking of coming to study here what would you say?
Go for it but be prepared to go through a million emotions such as homesickness and frustration. It's hard work but when you need a break it's good to know that any night will be a good night out.
How do you feel you have changed as a person since being at 51, Newcastle (e.g. confidence)?
I have definitely learned the value of money and have learnt a lot about myself. I do think I am more confident and I am much happier within myself as I know that I can adapt to living anywhere.
