Blyth Rebrand

The Blyth rebrand gives a fresh look to the Northumbrian town. Inspired by a combination of Blyth’s industrial history and recent government promises of investment, the project aims to encourage the town’s development. Historically, Blyth was a coal mining town but since the mine’s closure in 1986, Blyth has been neglected and the town’s reputation has declined. The government now has many projects to improve Blyth, with a potential investment of up to 90 million pounds. This rebrand seeks to encourage future investment and attract attention to the town.

Happiness not Included

This album cover was for the band Soft Cell for their new album release, ‘Happiness not Included’ in 2022. This was the first Soft Cell album in 20 years and it dealt with themes of aging, societal problems and loss of hope. It is a mixture of reminiscence and looking at negative aspects of the society we live in today. The design for this album is based on the lyric, ‘Pills replaced the sex act, we all felt so much better’ and the satirical and ironic themes in the song ‘Happy Happy Happy’. The album cover aimed to represent these themes visually.
