Echoes of Lost Voyages
The concept of “Below the Horizon” is an ambitious project aimed at exploring the submerged history of the North Sea surrounding Marsden Bay. The area has witnessed numerous shipwrecks, which have remained untouched due to the challenging coastal terrain. The primary goal of the project is to support marine archaeologists in their efforts to discover these sunken relics and retrieve artifacts from the seabed. These artifacts will then be conserved, restored, and eventually displayed for the public and research community to enjoy.
