Please note that the following are general entry guidelines for students from New Zealand. Actual requirements may vary depending on your chosen course of study, and some courses may have specific or additional entry criteria; full details are available in our course directory. Decisions for entry will also be based on personal statements and previous study information, not just your final course grading.

Although some courses have specific requirements for entry, Northumbria will consider any qualification for entry to its courses.

For entry to: You will need: Grade Required:
IFP National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA) Level 2
1st Year Undergraduate University Entrance Certificate with National Certificate in Educational Achievement Level 3 Excellent and Merit in subjects relevant to course
Postgraduate Programmes Bachelors degree with honours B- or C+ for entry to courses which require a UK 2:2 equivalent

B or B+ for courses which require a UK 2:1 equivalent.
Graduate Certificate Bachelors degree with honours C- to C
