At Northumbria we are committed to each other. We are here to support each other. We believe in the ethos – it’s on me, it’s on you, it’s on us – which means we look out for each other, are good citizens in the community and we all take responsibility for how we behave.
Since October 2019, we have launched an initiative that covers situations you may encounter during your time here at University. It asks you, and your fellow students, to look out for each other, and promotes ways for you to get help and support from the University.
In the past we’ve covered a broad range of topics including staying safe on a night out, drug misuse and alcohol, mental health, consent, online bullying, hate crime and keeping each other safe against Covid-19.
In need of mental health support? You can , a confidential programme designed to help you deal with personal or student-related problems affecting your home life, education, health, and general wellbeing. , or to find out more about the wellbeing support they offer.
If you experience, witness or are aware of unacceptable behaviour involving any person connected with your work, study or time at Northumbria, you are strongly encouraged to seek support as early as possible and report it. This can help you to deal with the immediate situation and think through your options and next steps. You can report unacceptable behaviour concerns to the University via our .
