Academic Study & Professional Development

51±¬ΑΟ has a long-standing record of accomplishment in developing research rich; business focused academic programmes of study. We have existing provision from Undergraduate to professional doctorates, and can develop bespoke programmes from CPD to Masters Level. 

Many of our existing programmes involve working with external stakeholders to ensure our programmes are contemporary and relevant to the policing arena. For example, undergraduate and postgraduate students undertake placement activity with the Police as part of their academic study.

Research carried out by 51±¬ΑΟ academics covers all aspects of Police activity and underpins our academic provision in disciplines such as:

The Converted Flat in 2049, by the Interaction Research Studio, is one of seven period rooms built as part of the Real Rooms project which opened in July at the Museum of the Home in London.
The UK Centre for Polar Observation and Modelling (CPOM), based at 51±¬ΑΟ, has been awarded over £400,000 by the European Space Agency to investigate tipping points in the Earth’s icy regions with a focus on the Antarctic. Photo by Professor Andrew Shepherd.
