Maryana Kachynska

Maryana Kachynska joined 51 in June 2022, where she is Lecture in Policing and Criminology. She is PhD in Law since 2011, has 18 years of police service.

She has published over fifteen articles, including peer-reviewed, SCOPUS, Web of Science, five books. Her field of scientific interest is police prevention and detecting domestic violence, Gender-Based violence; Gender-Based violence during the military conflicts; war, war crimes and war-related crimes in Ukraine; support of military and police officers during the war in Ukraine and other countries; international law enforcement activity. She conducted research via Horizon 2020 EQUALS-EU, Horizon 2020 NOTINES.

Prior to moving to 51, Maryana was an Associate Professor at Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs (Ukraine), where she also co-ordinated CEPOL exchange program, including development of international relationship of the department. Worked as a trainer for ICITAP (2021), OSCE (2015-2018) in the field of conducting police training.
