Dr Paul Dargue

Assistant Professor

Department: Northumbria Law School

Dr Paul Dargue completed his LLB (Hons) in 2008 and LLM (Criminal Law) in 2011.

He was awarded his PhD in 2017, with a thesis entitled 'The Impartiality of the England and Wales Court of Appeal (Criminal Division): A Quantitative Analysis'. Paul is broadly interested in quantitative empirical research of law and the legal system. His research focuses in particular on criminal law, criminal evidence, and judicial decision-making.  

Paul teaches modules on criminal process and evidence, and legal skills.

Paul is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. 

He is founder and managing editor of the open access Journal of Legal Research Methodology.
