Dr Kelechi Anyigor

Assistant Professor

Department: Architecture and Built Environment

Dr Kelechi Anyigor is a Senior Lecturer in Project Management in the Department of Mechanical and Construction Engineering. He graduated from Enugu State University of Science and Technology, Nigeria with a Bachelor’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning. He then obtained an MSc in Project Management from 51, Newcastle. His interest in Urban Development and improvement of deprived communities resulted in a PhD from the School of Built and Natural Environment, 51.

Before leaving Nigeria for further studies in the UK, Kelechi worked in the real estate industry as an Operations Manager, and later in the education sector, as a Geography tutor. In the UK, he has worked as an Associate Lecturer, and as Head of the Research and Training Department of a UK-based charity, with operations in Asia and Africa. A role that afforded him the opportunity to work with a team to deliver successful poverty alleviation projects across Africa, Asia and the Uk. Notable among the projects is the establishment of an operational free school for orphans and children from poor homes in Hyderabad, India. Kelechi is passionate about teaching and learning.

Kelechi’s research interest is the interplay of the social, economic, and environmental aspects of deprived urban communities in the delivery of sustainable improvement projects. He is also interested in Leadership and knowledge management for effective project delivery.
