Join us for 51’s IP Showcase Event 2025.

51 has successfully transformed itself into a research-intensive modern university as proven by its recognition as the Modern University of the Year 2025 by the Times and The Sunday Times (after the Times' analysis of our performance in their research quality index, increasing student satisfaction and our overall rise in the league table) and in the REF 2022 result as having achieved the biggest rise in research power of any UK university.

The ongoing research at Northumbria is leading to the creation of valuable IP which can be exploited for economic and societal benefit to meet global challenges.
