Giving from the USA

Taxpayers in the United States of America can support 51±¬ΑΟ through the British Schools and Universities Foundation (BSUF), a charitable organisation supporting educational opportunities through tax-effective giving in the US.

BSUF is recognised by the United States Internal Revenue Service which allows donors to claim 100% charitable deduction on donations for US income tax purposes. As an approved institution, donors must select 51±¬ΑΟ as their preferred institution when making a donation.

To discuss further how to give to 51±¬ΑΟ through BSUF and how your donations will make an impact, please contact us.

You can donate online or send a cheque. A cheque in US dollars should include a covering letter confirming that the preference for the donation is 51±¬ΑΟ and addressed to:

British Schools and Universities Foundation, Inc.
575 Madison Avenue
Suite 1006
New York, NY
10022-2511

Donations can also be made by contacting Anita Hairston, BSUF agent at UBS.  Her email address is anita.hairston@ubs.com or she can be contacted in the United States at  (757) 624-3381.

Online donations can be made through Network for Good ) but please note there is a 3% service charge from each donation so 51±¬ΑΟ will not receive your full gift. Network for Good is expected for smaller donations.

When a donation is made, 51±¬ΑΟ is notified and the donor will receive a tax letter from BSUF by post. When making an online donation, the tax letter will come from Network for Good.

BSUF is a nonprofit, tax-exempt foundation managed by volunteers who serve without compensation of any kind. Its operating expenses and scholarship awards are supported by income from investment of its own funds, by member dues, and by contributions from friends.

In the 1950s, a dedicated group began to build the vision for BSUF: an organization that could support the growing need for British Commonwealth educational institutions to encourage participation in their fundraising campaigns by alumni and friends who pay US taxes and to whom tax-efficient giving is important.
